The minerals listed above are the most often traded minerals containing Tantalum, Coltan is actually a tantalite. Our
standard trading practice was to buy the materials in public warehouse Hong Kong where they are weighed and sampled by independent
international supervisor and payment is made on their results but this trading pattern can be amended by negotiation. This
is no longer possible unless the material is free of the radioactive elements U3O8 nad thO2. Consequently material is shipped
to the destination plant where it is weighed and sampled by an independent surveyor and paid for on these results. The
most important constraint is the content of radioactivity which should be a maximum 0.5% by weight content of U3O8 and
ThO2. Higher levels of radioactivity can sometimes be accomodated if suitable shipment can be arranged. We also trade
tantalum scrap in lots as small as half a ton.
